About Criminal Defense & Phillip L. Weinberg
The Law Offices of Phillip L. Weinberg consists of attorney Phillip L. Weinberg who practices as a criminal defense lawyer. Mr. Weinberg has been practicing law since 1982 and currently practices law in the State of Washington.
Phil got his BA from Lake Forest College, Illinois. He was an Honors Graduate nominated for the National Political Honor Society. Phil also was an International Relations major with a Chemistry minor. He understands the principles of breath testing, blood draw lab results and field tests used in DUI and other criminal defense cases.
After a stint as a successful professional musician for 6 years after college, Phil then attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago from which he graduated in 1982. He graduated “With Distinction” in the top 11% of his graduating class. He was also elected by the law school faculty to an honorary scholastic society, The Order of John Marshall.
Phil then worked as an intern staff attorney at Prairie State Legal Services in Waukegan, IL, where he handled criminal defense cases. Next, he worked as a paralegal and researcher for the Starobin & Abrahamson law firm in Thiensville, WI before moving to the Seattle area.
Mr. Weinberg took and passed the Washington State Bar exam in 1986. He then worked as an associate attorney in Seattle as well as doing legal research. Subsequently, he worked as an associate attorney for the Law Offices of Rodney G. Pierce. Phil also worked as an independent contract attorney for a law firm in Oak Harbor.
About Criminal Defense after 1989
In 1989 Phil started his own firm in Woodinville, WA, The Law Offices of Phillip L. Weinberg, as a solo attorney in private practice, serving King County, Snohomish County and the Eastside.
Since 1991, Phil’s criminal defense practice has largely emphasized DUI, Assault and Domestic Violence (DV) defense strategies. He has also handled many other misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. He uses a personal and creative focus with much success.
Phil was one of the first attorneys in this area to introduce a mental-health approach to DUI defense in the King County Courts in 1992. He utilized the help of a renowned psychiatry professor from Johns Hopkins University, John A. Liebert.
Phil Weinberg has been resolving clients’ legal problems in the Seattle, Bellevue and Everett areas for over 30 years. He is a member of:

He works hard to keep up with the DUI and Assault laws that are constantly changing. In fact, he develops new arguments and strategies to deal with these changes with tact and effectiveness.
